1. Why does Malcolm say he feels like a "pink poodle?" Have you ever felt that way before? Tell me about it.
2. Imagine what would have happened to Malcolm if he had followed his white friends' advice and attempted to date white women. How would it have affected Malcolm? The women he tried to date? His friends? His sister Ella?
3. In spite of enjoying his time in Roxbury, Malcolm decides that it is a good thing when he leaves. Why? Have you ever been forced to leave a place you've loved, only to later realize it was for the best? Tell me about it.

If he would have took his white friends advice and started dating white women he probably wouldn't have used so much violence because he's with a white woman. And his friends that are African american would have probably thought he was a back stabber for dating white women.
If Malcolm would have followed his friends advice he relationship would have never worked out. It would have never work out because a lot of people would have be talking about their relationship, saying that she's white and he is a black.
His aunt Ella doesnt like white people and where she lives.
I dont think that his relationship with the white girl will go far because everybody will be getting into their business. The white girl would have gotten treated very differently for haveing a black boyfriend. As for aunt Ella everybody is gonna be asking her y she let her black nephew go out with a white girl.As for his friends they will have a lot of fun watching him try to get with the white girl and when he does get with her they are gonna start talking bout them to.

Krystal: Yes I was force to leave my favorite aunts house when i was ten.I was so upset, but my mother just gave birth to my sister and she needed my help at home.
I dont think that his relationship with the white girl will go far because everybody will be getting into their business. 2.Malcolm X would of went to jail and he didn't want to got to jail,the women would of been called a nigger lover,his friends would of been pressured into not talking to him out of all the publicity.
3.It was a good thing to leave Roxbury because Roxbury was full of rascism and he didn't want his kids growing up around that kind of enviroment.we moved from the apartment above my aunts to a house on evergreen it was for the best I guess because my family was growing and where we were at the time couldn't hold everybody that lives with us now without it being cramped but i miss living there .

I have felt like a french poodle people all my cousines are think and i guess im the thickess between all of them and sometimes i feel that way.
Well, personally i think that by dating a white woman, Malcolm would have really been the talk of the area in which he lived. He would have probably been made fun of by white men and he would have probably dissapointed the black people because hes wasting his time dating white chicks when he could have gone out with a wonderful black women.

Genesis Salazar: Well when Malcolm X refers to himself like a "french poodle" i believe he tried to say that he is in the category of being a black but then again his skin color does not say so.The fact that he feels like a dog is prabably because he is treated as a dog and a pink poodle is i guess rarely seen and people would treat the dog differently for that fact that it has a different fur color I have felt like a pink poodle because all my cousines are thin and i guess im the thickess between all of them and sometimes i feel that way. Kinda left out ...
1)I think Malcolm felt like a pink poodle because he felt like he was treated differently in some what of a way by strangers and his parents. I think he felt like a dog because he was black even though he was light skinned, there were still caucasions that still let him know his origins. In my mind he probably believed he was pink be cause he was odd because as we all know there are no pink poodles so he felt strange in his own skin. I think his thick curly hair cut in a hick style contributed to the dog being chosen as a poodle. Poodles have curly hair as well. Many may have seen him as the little unfortunate black boy that happened to be light skinned so hes trying to fit in.

He said that because he was the only african american in his class. i have felt like dat evrytime i entered a new school.He was also very smart and i think this (in the end) made him feel more "diffrent" than the rest of the kids. Also the teachers made him feel like if he was'nt human, like if he was an object.(or as he describes it, a pet.) He never got the chance to blend in as an african american. he though they only wanted him to be as white as possible. But he of course noticed his and decided to leave.

1.Because he was different from everyone else. He was basically saying that he was an outcast.He might have felt as if he was viewed as a womans object. Ive felt like this plenty of times. When i went to albany for the Thanksgiving vacation i felt like a pink poodle because i was dressed very different from everyone else.I felt like a wierdo.If Malcolm would have listened to his white friend then he would probaaly have ended up in a terrible situation but it could have also gave him and his family some advantages. As for his friend and the woman they would have probably been viewed as the outlaws.The fact that he was forced to leave could have meant that there was something else in store for him else where.This is his chance to start over and be able to earn the respect from people all over.I kno because this happened to me befor when i was forced to leave a home that i was very comfortable at to go stay with people that i didnt really connect with.In the long run it was all for the better now i am able to say that i have lived in more than one hood and went to more than one jr. h.s. Malcom was having a great time at Roxbury, but I think he decides to leave because he was looking for something new, a new begining, he wanted to meet new people and start his life all over again.Be happy.

Well,I havent really been forced to leave a place only like when I was in junior high school, that I didnt want to leave my friends, or if I went for vacation and didnt want to go back home, but thats general things that happen to everybody, you always have to move on.
