CLASS 8 - Good Advice

My mother once told me that "it's easier to get forgiveness than permission." What is one piece of good advice that you've received from a parent (or another older relative or role model)?

Roberto - Is "dather" a combination between dad and father?? The advice your mother gave you is wonderful. My mom always told me to choose a man based on how he treats his mother. Your mom has taught you well!

Watkis,

Your advice is clearly the most practical. Let me add to your mother's advice. Always be sure to remove the gas pump from the car before starting up the engine and pulling away. While it won't necessarily make a "KABOOM," it's likely to get you a HUGE bill from the gas station!

Mr. Rolapp is right. Many moons ago, I drove off with the gas pump still in my car. Luckily, the man working at the gas station let me go without paying the fine; I think he figured that I would never be able to pay it! One word of advice that my mother has always said is "Life is not fair." Her words still ring in my head when I pull up to a fancy car, or go window shopping with friends, or receive my monthly checking account statement. Instead of worrying about where you stand in terms of others, I think it is more important to worry about where you stand and where you want to go.
